Etchings
My current imagery stems from interiors but it is not only about rooms. The spaces are devoid of figures so that the viewer is invited to enter the space and encounter the commonplace in unexpected ways. I incorporate everyday objects and common settings to suggest interpersonal relationships tied to the spatial relationship of the objects. The viewer is encouraged to interpret the emotional content of a recognizable, if distorted, scene.
Artist’s Bio
Judy Hinkes Zeddies is a native Chicagoan. She received a BFA in Fine Arts from Quincy University and an MFA in Printmaking & Drawing from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. She has also studied printmaking at Chicago Center for the Print and at Ox-bow in Saugatuck, MI. She teaches printmaking in the Chicago area.
